Flavor of India 12/10/2011

This is probably our 4th time to eat at Flavor of India. And every time we've gone its been during the lunch buffet.

The food is always fresh and hot (both temperature and spice). The naan bread is amazing and they have a good selection of food and a pretty complete salad bar included. Everything we tried was good and the wait staff kept our glasses full and were very attentive to us the entire time.

I think my only complaints would be accurate for almost all Indian restaurants. Almost all the dishes are chicken. Its not that I don't like chicken but the only meat they had was chicken. And parking is difficult so plan on time to drive around and find a spot.

All in all I'd give it a thumbs up......especially at $8.95 per person. We were in and out quickly and were taken care of nicely. I would like to go back and try the dinner some time...stay tuned

The Nebraska Brewing Company 12/5/2011

Well another wait at the door. The sign said "wait to be seated".. We didn't know that was an omen..LOL we had to finally get someones attention to seat us. We ordered a buffalo wing appetizer and ran through the menu. We ordered our meal and got the wings. They had a decent sauce on them but they were a bit soggy. We generally like our wings fried to a crunch before introducing them to the sauce.

We waited quite a bit more before the food came. Kimberly had a Southwest salad w/Chipotle ranch dressing. She opted for the grilled Chicken instead of the fried variety. It was heavy on the tortilla strips and short on the greens. The dressing tasted bottled, runny and it just wasn't great. She had them bring us some regular ranch. The ranch was also runny and seems like a bottled store bought dressing.

I had the Cuban sandwich with fries and ordered a Brunette nut brown ale.

The beer was amazing. It was ice cold with a nice rich nutty taste and a hint of sweetness. The Sandwich is described as a ham and slow roasted pork w/mustard and pickle on a pressed baguette. It was ham with very little of the pork. The spicy mustard and pickles were good but the bread was like a heal that was smashed. It lacked flavor. A sourdough Panini would have been a better match for the sandwich. The fries were like strings very thin and not very flavorful.

Again we had to "wait" to get our check so our quick lunch was about 1.5 hours that could have been 35 minutes...

All in all, the Beer was worth going for but if you go........... pass on the food..............
